Forms of Investment under the EB-5 Program
According to the latest updates from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), as of November 21, 2019, the EB-5 program has seen changes in the minimum investment amount, specifically:
Direct Investment (Self-Investment)
Each year, the U.S. government issues approximately 7,000 visas for the direct investment category. The investment capital required for this program is $1,800,000 per slot.
Investors participating in this program must establish a new company, hire employees, directly manage and operate the company, and fully report and pay taxes. Within 2 consecutive years, investors are required to create at least 10 full-time jobs for local residents to qualify for a green card.
Additionally, investors can establish subsidiary companies, branches, or acquire existing businesses.
Indirect Investment (Delegated Investment)
You will need to invest $900,000 in projects developed by a Regional Center approved by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
The entire investment capital and interest will be returned after 5 years. Currently, this investment category has a quota of 3,000 visas per year.
